Montana Educators’ Credit Union opened for business on January 2, 1996 and is the first state-chartered credit union in the State of Montana since 1963. We initially began serving only school employees and their families in Missoula, Sanders, Mineral and Granite Counties, BUT NOW ALL MISSOULA COUNTY RESIDENTS MAY JOIN MECU.

With 1600 members and nearly $14 million dollars in assets, MECU is big enough to provide you with the same consumer products as larger financial institutions, but small enough to know you and your specific needs. Our staff of 4 full-time and 1 part-time employees have combined experience of over 100 years. Our board of directors is made up of seven dedicated members who are committed to providing the best credit union services possible.
